Ledgewood Farm Connemaras

Ledgewood's Rebel Star, 1998, out of Heaven's Ridge Mistykil Sunset. The sire is a mystery at the moment. He likely was Kathy Manyo's stallion, Pony Hollow Winter Rebel (given Rebel Star's name). The colt was sold to the Mandaus in South Carolina. (Photo by Kathy Manyo)

The late Kathy Manyo, owner of Ledgewood Farm in Newbury, Ohio, started corresponding with Kerrymor Farm in the early 1990s, after she purchased Heaven’s Ridge Mistykil Sunset (Lexi), a daughter of Lynfields Kiltuck, from Heaven’s Ridge Farm in Arizona and began using her as a broodmare.

Before the internet took off, Kathy and Joan McKenna Jr. used to snail mail photocopies of their Connemaras to each other to show what mares, stallions and new offspring looked like.

We’ve uploaded Kathy’s photos with info she included in her letters. The registration for some of the foals is not to be found in internet searches.

The reproduction of the photocopies is not as good as actual photos, but it’s not bad. There are some creases where the paper was folded into an envelope.

These photos should be credited to Kathy Manyo, with the exception of three photos of Lexi that Kerrymor Farm took at Heaven’s Ridge Farm.
