Flosie Turn
The chestnut thoroughbred (1974, out of Fair Turn by Bonner Law) had eight owners and a couple of wins under her belt as a racehorse before she joined Kerrymor Farm as a 5-year-old.
Selected by Otis Brown as a broodmare to match up well with Lynfields Kiltuck, Flo had three offspring with Kiltuck, including the very successful Kerrymor Lady Diana, shown in hunters under the name Serenity on the West Coast. According to Seattle trainer John Turner, Serenity become the “most famous children’s hunter ever out of the Northwest” winning her division at the Indio horse show every time she went.
This is the correct spelling of Flosie Turn’s name, confirmed on her Jockey Club papers, which we still have, and on EquiBase. Her profile on EquiBase is here.
Her name is currently misspelled in ACPS documents related to her offspring. We can try to correct it so databases will link up the info correctly in the future. Not sure it will happen.
