Tower Hill’s Megan

Tower Hill's Megan as a foal in 1980.

The bay mare mare (1980, out of Sir William’s Fantasia by Skibbereen) was bought as a weanling by Kerrymor Farm from Tower Hill Farm as a broodmare prospect. Bright and friendly, she was shown in conformation and trained early to drive.

Due to the farm having more horses than it could properly love and promote, she was sold back to Tower Hill Farm, then to Gerry Bogaard in New York.

In 2002, Megan landed at Sugarbush Farm in Pennsylvania, where Megan lived out her final 10 years, dying just short of her 32nd birthday.

Sugarbush’s Shawn Markel wrote Kerrymor Farm in 2012 to say “Megan was a best friend, a total character, the self-appointed one who took care and watched over all of the other horses, the perfect granny mare, a lover of children, and my door back into life with horses.”
