Kerrymor’s Amber Waves

Kerrymor's Amber Waves at age 3.

The 14-2 hand, bay mare (1986, out of Hideaway Bay by Lynfields Kiltuck) was born on the Fourth of July in 1986, a day that celebrated the 200th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty, in addition to the nation’s birthday. Amber was a full sister to Kerrymor Finbarr and Kerrymor Madison.

Amber was intended as a broodmare for the farm, but her success in the show ring resulted in her being sold as a pony hunter to a child rider. Amber changed hands quickly again and disappeared.

The farm ran many ads attempting to find her, but those efforts were unsuccessful.

The farm would like to see the American Connemara Pony Society institute regulations requiring owners to report the location and contact information for Connemaras after each sale, with penalties for violations to ensure compliance.

We shouldn’t lose such wonderful mares.
